Bonding is often used to improve the shape, color or spacing of teeth. It can also be used on a small portion of the tooth to fill in unsightly gaps, small cavities or chipped areas. It can also be placed over the entire tooth to change its shape or color. Bonding involves applying a tooth-colored, enamel-like material to the surface of the tooth. The material is then sculpted, allowed to harden, & then polished to a natural finish. The process provides a natural-looking restoration; however, the material is more prone to chipping & staining than veneers & other forms of restoration.
